From the age of 21, when he opened his clock company in 1926, Howard Miller took pride in manufacturing high-quality clocks, determined to present customers with only the very best. Certain characteristics easily determine the authenticity of Howard Miller clocks.
Examine the Face of the Clock
Howard Miller clocks are made in mantel, wall, desk and grandfather styles. All Miller clocks have the name and logo on the face of the clock. Older, antique Howard Miller clocks also have 'Made in Germany' on the face of the clock. Remember Miller's invitation to 'Inspect our craftsmanship with your eyes, with your ears, and with your hands.'
Examine the Inside of the Clock
If your clock opens, carefully open the door. A label is affixed inside all Howard Miller clocks that open. The label features the model number and other pertinent information specific to that particular clock. Leave the label attached as it helps to authenticate the clock.
Authenticate by Appraisal
Take your clock to an appraiser. The appraiser can determine the model number, age and value. The appraiser can document the authentication with a certificate that designates your clock as a Howard Miller clock.
